Benefits of 4X4 vs Regular Drive

Are you considering purchasing a Ram 1500, but you’re unsure which model is suitable for you? If so, keep reading to learn about the many features that make Rams stand out from the crowd. This truck offers a range of towing capacities, from 6,000 pounds for the base V6 to 11,500 pounds for the V8. Its base engine is a 305-horsepower V6 with a mild hybrid system. There are also two specialty trims, and each has a unique set of off-road capabilities.

The 2013 Dodge Ram 1500 is updated with a minor restyling, including a new front fascia, optional projector-beam halogen headlamps, and LED turn signals. Ram 1500 models offer all 2012 trim levels this year, with two-tone paint schemes and optional special paint and stripe packages. Four-wheel-drive models still have the Rambox.

Full-Time 4×4: The RAM 1500 uses a center differential and clutch system to keep all four wheels in the same direction. This means that it can travel safely on all surfaces, whether dry, wet, or slippery. Full-Time FWD: Ram’s 4×4 system engages 4WD automatically when the driver loses traction. This system is ideal for various road conditions and is the default option for a RAM 1500.

Power Wagon: A Ram 1500 with off-road-oriented features is based on the original Dodge 4-wheel-drive trucks from the 1940s to the 1980s. This model is equipped with a 5.7-liter Hemi engine, electronic locking differentials, a front sway bar, and dual safety beads. Its standard suspension and axle gearing is 3.21:1.

Fuel Economy: A RAM 1500 with a four-wheel-drive has better fuel efficiency than a gas-only Rebel or a non-hybrid V-8 Laramie. The Dodge Ram 1500 is available with a three-year/36,000-mile basic limited warranty. Those with diesel engines are covered by a five-year/60,000-mile powertrain warranty. This extended warranty will cover your vehicle’s parts and labor as long as the truck is new and not modified by accidents.

A Ram 1500 crew cab offers plenty of room for passengers when it comes to interior space. Its large doors open wide with chunky grab handles for a comfortable and secure ride. Both the front and rear seats provide plenty of legroom. The Crew Cab’s rear seats are the largest in class and have more legroom than its competitors. The crew cab and the Limited Longhorn models feature a complete set of anchors and large windows.

Crew Cab models with long and short beds start at $36,675. A diesel engine costs $2,295, and V8 engines cost $4,9995. Optional equipment includes a Level 1 Equipment Group and a Level 1 Safety Group. A Level 1 Safety Group adds a power-sliding rear window, satellite radio, and advanced driver assistance systems. A Dodge Ram 1500 4×4 with an Off-Road Group includes a locking rear differential, skid plates, and tow hooks.
